THE LITTLE MERMAID

I haven’t pointed out many good places to eat during this trip, but I want to tell you about this little restaurant in Homer, located on the spit.

No, I’m not for dinner!

The recommendation came from Darin’s cousin, a lifelong resident of Alaska. She was spot on! All four of us loved the food!

The fish sandwich plate came with blackened rockfish.

The Little Mermaid was definitely popular. The restaurant only had room for 10 tables and we had to put our name on the waiting list. We had an hour to kill which was not hard because we were planning to look in all the shops anyway. The timing was perfect and when we came back, our table was ready! The guys ordered the special – a fish sandwich. Their plates were very happy at the end.

Why does Darin like to stand by these giant fake fish?

Mom ordered fish tacos that were fried in a tempura batter. For those who know me well, you know I don’t eat fish. What a shame, right? I ordered a chicken rice bowl that came with veggies, seaweed, and rice covered in peanut sauce. It was so yummy!

Fish tacos and chicken rice bowl.

On our way back to the parking lot, we walked along the edge of the marina and saw the coolest RV. Check out the wood on this baby!

What a cool idea!

Here’s another picture of it. What a perfect day exploring a new place!

If this guy could talk, what stories could he tell?
