BACK IN BELIZE

I know, I know, it has been a while since I have communicated. We arrived in Texas and I was flooded with appointments, happy hours with friends, and spending time with the grandkids. Fall festivals are the best, huh?

Zombie Chase!

We don’t really see many pumpkins for sale on Ambergris Caye, but I saw plenty in Texas! It was so warm that it did not feel like fall at all.

Spider-Man Zane!

Our stay on Lake Grapevine was wonderful and the warm sunny weather allowed the kids to swim and play at the beach. Grapevine Vineyards Campground is super nice if you need a little getaway.

I fed my duck friends every morning.

Since arriving on the island on October 17th, it has rained just about every single day. But let’s back up a minute…I packed 3 bags and Darin took me to the Dallas airport.

Trading an RV life for a tropical island life!

I landed in Belize City and took a small prop plane to San Pedro. I was pleasantly surprised to see another expansion at the Belize International Airport.

New passenger waiting area is looking good!

Normally, on a clear day, you can see the sandy bottom and sea grass through beautiful turquoise water. If the sun is shining, that is!

This ugly development has been on my weather app’s radar for several days. Not fun! Rain and clouds for a week straight.

I thought hurricane season was almost over.

Most activities take place outside here, so the rain has a huge impact on your physical and emotional well being. Many people are getting cabin fever!

My view! Very pretty, even with clouds!

Darin has winterized the RV and moved it into storage. After his appointments, he will be joining me in a couple more days.

The forecast changes on a daily basis!

The weekend schedule on the island includes Halloween parties almost every day. If the rain continues, each event is bound to see low turnout. I must share our Weather Channel costumes from 3 years ago.

Jane Cantori and a tourist!

The Holiday Hotel has the biggest costume party on the island and the disguises can be spooky and outrageous. We didn’t win a prize in 2013 or 2014.

Tourists walking on the beach in a hurricane.

I don’t think our costumes would be humorous this year after the unbelievable hurricane season. But I have to say that the rain has brought out some beautiful waterfowl. We saw these beauties on our way to town last week.

Pretty in pink!

Fingers crossed that my next post includes sunny tropical pictures!
