2 DAYS IN BISMARCK…

We got here about 2:30pm on June 3rd and got set up beside my parent’s RV at the campground. Below are some photos of both units that Darin took while practicing his drone flying skills.

Someone photo bombed with their RV!

Our Sprinter (tiny house) is on the right.

That afternoon we made a shopping run to Menards and ate dinner. I am so happy to go to a hardware store and I still have projects to do! Yay! On the list were cabinet latches for a drawer that keeps opening while we are on the road, a reacher (grabber thingy on a pole) to open the vent on the ceiling in the bathroom, a coat hook to hang a jacket or my purse, and metal brackets to hold our clothes bar in the closet. Well, because this happened:

I told Darin to slow down! LOL

Today we made a morning run to Walmart for groceries and a road atlas….Nothing like a good old fashion book of maps! I also called a few campgrounds to make reservations for this week. So far, we know where to stop through friday. We are preparing for our border crossing into Canada tomorrow. I’m not sure what we are going to do with our liquor since we can only bring in 1 bottle per person. Just kidding…I know what to do!

We also took a boat ride on the Lewis and Clark Riverboat. We traveled down the Missouri river and it was a hot day – it got up to 95 degrees!  Again, hotter than Fort Worth, Texas.

Very hot day on the boat!

I am saving the best for last!  We ate at Sickies Garage for dinner. They have 50 burgers and 50 brews. Me and mom picked out 2 different beer flights and all were pretty good except the vanilla porter.  My favorite was the summer shandy. Mom liked the strawberry flavored one and the most unique was the Empyrean Peanut Butter porter. Who would ever think to put peanut butter and beer together?

Sharing all of our beers.

My meal was awesome. I ordered the glazed doughnut burger with peppered bacon and cheese with a side of potato salad.  I have to say the potato salad was the best I have ever eaten at a restaurant. But the doughnut bun with my burger – YUM!!  I’ll share my food porn with you below and wish us luck getting into Canada tomorrow.  You know, Darin can look a little shady at times and he has been detained at the Canadian border one other time in the past.

Best potato salad ever!
Close up shot – they actually serve it with the doughnut upside down.

Goodbye from the United States for now….
